Hello Reapers, Did everyone enjoy the new Star Wars trailer? Plenty of news today. Playstation blog released a lot of new info on some smaller games coming out soon. Few other games have some firm release dates, including the possible release date for the new Star Wars Battlefront. Lets get to it.
SUPER TIME FORCE ULTRA GETS MORE PLAYSTATION-EXCLUSIVE CHARACTERS
Sony exec Shuhei Yoshida won’t be the only PlayStation-centric character coming to Super Time Force Ultra when it launches on PlayStation 4 and Vita later this year, as both Sir Galahad from The Order: 1886 and the traveler from Journey will be joining the roster as well.
In a post on the EU PlayStation Blog, Capy Games president Nathan Vella confirmed that Ready at Dawn’s Knight of the Round Table, armed with a Luger pistol and a chaotic arc rifle, will be playable in the PlayStation versions of STFU. The Journey traveler is coming too, and, like Galahad, will offer a unique twist to gameplay, allowing players to rely on “grace, agility and, of course, scarves” rather than mere brute force to complete the game’s challenging levels. Trophy hunters will be pleased to hear specific challenges have been added to the PlayStation version as well, and are tied to the game’s exclusive characters. So, if you want to unlock Super Time Force Ultra’s platinum, you’ll want to become familiar with each.
SHOOTER SCREENCHEAT COMING TO XBOX ONE AND PLAYSTATION 4
Quirky shooter Screencheat is coming to Xbox One and PlayStation 4 later this year.
Not familiar with the title? A first-person shooter wherein all other characters are invisible, you can only pick up clues on where your enemies are by peeking at their screens and deducing where they are courtesy of “bright colored and iconic areas of the level”.
“Screencheating is made fun and easy through our maps and weapons, which are designed to maximise the joy of destroying your enemies,” says Nicholas McDonnell from Samurai Punk on today’s PS Blog. “Maps are colour-coded to break the space into quadrants then using distinct structural elements and smaller landmarks you can triangulate your opponents’ position. Weapons give off trails and visual tells which also reveal your position, so if your enemy misses, you get an easy shot at revenge.”
There are ten guns in all, including a Blunderbuss (an all-rounder that works best at close range), the Sörgeån (which fires a “rocket propelled yo-yo mace”) the Hobby Horse (a sword you can ride and skewer opponents with) and the Candelabra (as seen in Clue).
All are one-shot kills but they also alert others to your whereabouts, which means you have to fight tactically and carefully across the ten maps, which include a Museum, Garden, and Loop (a tea house in space, apparently).
While there’s nine game modes, including classics like Deathmatch, the developer promises further tweaks and variations courtesy of game mode customisation for local and online multiplayer for up to eight players.
There’s no confirmation of release date just yet, but Xbox Wire hints that it’ll be later this year.
NEW DETAILS ABOUT CRACKDOWN 2 DEV’S NEW GAME
Ruffian Games has unveiled some new details for its upcoming PC and PS4 shooter Hollowpoint.
A post on the PS Blog takes a closer look at the new game from the Crackdown 2 developer. Hollowpoint is a “four player cooperative online game that blends tactical and action packed combat experiences with procedurally built levels and a never ending supply of enemies”.
It will contain large 3D cross section environments. Players are constrained to the 2D axis, but can switch to fire into the depth of the scene, creating a “mix of an old school 2D platform shooter and 3D shooting gallery”. You can play with up to three teammates, and together you can deal with multiple rooms at the same time. Hollowpoint will be available for PC and PS4 later in 2015.
MOBA TRANS-GALACTIC TOURNAMENT ANNOUNCED AS PS4-EXCLUSIVE
Kiz Studios has revealed its new project, a PS4-exclusive free-to-play MOBA created in collaboration with Hibernum Creations.
The game, called Trans-Galactic Tournament, has been developed specifically for PS4 and hopes to bring together monsters, space and sports.
Game modes center on 4v4 and are designed to be faster than most other MOBAs. Three modes will be available at launch, include Deathmatch, a Capture-the-Flag-esque creation called Plunderball and Conquest, which is essentially King-of-the-Hill.
Interestingly, you won’t be able to level any of the 10 initial Champions in-match, instead customising them outside of battle to suit your playstyle. Two mentioned by name are the living statue Rook and the bruiser Brutus. There’ll be a free weekly Champion rotation, while all Champions and stat-altering items will be unlockable through play. Check it out in action below:
The initial line-up for the game, then, includes three multiplayer modes, six arenas, and 10 Champions. More of everything will be added over time.
The game is set to launch “soon.”
