EVERY MORTAL KOMBAT X DLC PATCH WILL COME WITH A FREE COSTUME

An all-new patch for Mortal Kombat X is now available to download on all platforms. Patch 1.02 includes a number of new updates, including a free classic Sub-Zero skin and a number of other DLC skins for different characters. The patch also makes a number of balance and online stability updates to Mortal Kombat X, including several specific move fixes listed below:

General – Throws (regular or command grabs) will no longer sometimes connect on a grounded reacting opponent off a counter hit

Shinnok(Impostor) – He can now control the location of a stolen Goro Stomp.

Subzero(Grandmaster) – Combos on a grounded opponent frozen by the Ice Klone will now scale properly.

Takeda(Ronin) – Added a new move “Quick Kall” (Down, Towards, Front Punch) which quickly returns a dropped blade without doing an attack.

Takeda(Shirai Ryu) – He will now always teleport to the other side when doing the Air Shirai Ryu Port

Additionally, PC players will be given 10,000 Krypt Koins redeemed automatically the next time they start up the game to make up for some of Mortal Kombat X’s reported issues on Steam. According to NetherRealm, this will allow players to automatically unlock several brutalities, skins, and fatalities.

AMD: WINDOWS 10 RELEASING THIS JULY

Windows 10, Microsoft’s new operating system, will release sometime late July, according to AMD president and CEO Lisa Su.

“With the Windows 10 launch at the end of July, we are watching sort of the impact of that on the back-to-school season, and expect that it might have a bit of a delay to the normal back-to-school season inventory build-up,” the AMD exec said during last week’s company earnings call, as reported by The Verge. Microsoft has yet to pin down a specific launch date for its new OS, but if AMD’s claims are true and Windows 10 is in fact scheduled for a late July release, we’ll likely be hearing from the software giant in the very near future.

NEW HALO 5: GUARDIANS TRAILER SHOWS SPARTAN LOCKE KICKING ASS

Microsoft has released a new trailer for Halo 5: Guardians, showing the UNSC elite manhunter Spartan Locke taking out Covenant while in pursuit of Master Chief.

Additionally it’s been announced anyone pre-ordering the shooter from GameStop in the US will get access to the Hunter-Class armor set seen in the trailer for use with Spartan Locke in multiplayer.

Alongside the new armor, highlights from the trailer include both new weapons and abilities that look set to mix-up the gameplay options we’re used to having available to us.

NEW PLAYSTATION VITA DESIGN TRADEMARKED IN JAPAN

A new model of PlayStation Vita could be coming soon, as a trademark for a redesigned take on Sony’s handheld has been filed in Japan.

The trademark, which first surfaced on Twitter, provides any early look at the device. Unsurprisingly, it looks very similar to last year’s 2000 model, albeit with the addition of what appears to be an HDMI port, as pointed out byNeoGAF user Jignx.

The device doesn’t appear to veer all that far from the first redesign, which scrapped the original’s pricey OLED display for a more cost-effective LCD solution. According to a rough translation of the post, this new model won’t mark the return of the gorgeous OLED, as the trademark — which was filed earlier this month — described it as “a portable LCD screen game machine controller.”

His tweet read: “Things changed. No longer working at @GearboxSoftware. I will always love Gearbox, but it’s adventure time.”

Armstrong’s tweet came the day after he offered condolences for the recently closed 2K Australia studio. “The 2K Australia guys were amazing to work with, and there’s not one of them I wouldn’t work with again. Good luck, my friends.”

Gears of War Cinematic Director Leaves Epic for Black Tusk

Greg M. Mitchell, the man responsible for almost all the cinematics in the Gears of War franchise, has left Epic Games to join Black Tusk Studios.

Announcing the move on Twitter, Mitchell didn’t elaborate upon his new position at the studio handling the next entry in the Gears franchise, but it’s pretty obvious it’ll be related to the cinematics again

Mitchell started his career at Epic back in 2006 as Digital Cinematographer on the original Gears of War, before rising to the rank of Cinematics Director in 2007. Since then he’s worked on all other Gears games and other Epic titles, including Shadow Complex and Infinity Blade.

Mortal Kombat X: Ed Boon Hints at Story DLC

Mortal Kombat X creator Ed Boon has hinted the recently-released brawler could soon be getting Story DLC to introduce new playable characters.

Responding to a fan on Twitter, Boon mused about the possible existence of a “Story Pack”, though he failed to be drawn on any details about who may be involved or when we may see it.
